Each episode I listen to becomes a new favorite, but my current top pick is the conversation with Caroline Adams Miller, exploring why grit is essential for flourishing and how to grow it, plus the profound truth that happiness boils down to three words: Other people matter. This idea hit me like lightning, connecting directly to my days promoting conscious capitalism. A hero of that movement, Bob Chapman, CEO of Barry-Wehmiller, wrote the incredible book Everybody Matters, which details a business case study where Bob’s discovery led Barry-Wehmiller to adopt a forward-looking metric to reduce their employees’ divorce rates—an inspiring example of purpose-driven leadership. When I shared this connection with Scott Parsons, he sent a photo of his own copy of Everybody Matters and revealed that Bob Chapman is already scheduled as a future guest!
